Walk our Paths

A collection of inspirational stories from people with Acquired Brain Injury
Price: €10 per book, plus €4 postage & packingOur Oasis – Song

We’re proud to share something very close to our hearts: an original song called Our Oasis. This song began as an idea early last year. Staff across Cork Headway gathered thoughts and reflections from clients involved in music, and with the incredible support of Oliver Keane, a music producer, from the Cork Academy of Music, those ideas became lyrics, and those lyrics became music.
Our Oasis tells a story in three parts:
- The first reflects the experience of life after acquiring a brain injury.
- The second captures the feeling of walking into Headway for the first time.
- And the third celebrates the life and community that has grown since.
The recording process was a joyful collaboration—featuring solos from choir members, contributions from our broken ukulele band, and even a kazoo player! It’s a song that speaks to the heart of what Headway means to all of us. This song will be available for purchase, with all proceeds going directly to Cork Headway Services.
We hope this song help you better understand what it’s like to live with an acquired brain injury, and why this choir is such a cherished part of our lives.
