26 Miles for 26 Heroes Blog 3

By February 19, 2015 No Comments

Hi all,

Welcome to Blog 3 of our 26 awareness raising videos.

Acquired brain injury is often called the invisible disability. A brain injury can affect people in many different ways and often the consequences of brain injury are not easily seen. People may develop cognitive changes i.e changes in thinking and mental processing, which are not obvious to see, but can have far-reaching implications for the person.

This weeks video was designed and produced by our Vocational Training clients in Limerick. Each client chose an invisible aspect of brain injury they wanted to highlight. They chose:

  • Aphasia
  • Memory difficulties
  • Fatigue
  • Lack of services

Each client then gave some practical suggestions on how people can support them to overcome these difficulties.

A big thank you to Vocational Training client, Ger O’Connell, whom did an excellent job in producing this video. Thanks Ger!

Francis O’Donovan
